It's moronic - and people like these are responsible for the downfall of chat. If you go to a chat room right now, most are empty, not much conversation goes on at all these days. Because people got tired of people like her! ... They've all moved over to myspace, which is just a bigger, more popular chat room - without the instant interaction of chat.
